AIRTEL INDIA, has announced the launch of 4G LTE Network in India. Airtel 4G LTE network had already been deployed in Kolkata on trial basis and recently, Airtel has made a public announcement that it will be rolling down the AIRTEL 4G LTE network to other major cities in the next 30 days, including Bangalore.

Airtel 4G LTE network
LTE is a terminology in the telecom network that stands for Long Term Evolution [LTE]. LTE is a an advancement in the current GSM netowrk that helps in increasing the speed of data transfers by using the latest advancements in modulation technology.
4G LTE has better performance compared to the current 3G netowrks. However, there already is a dispute in the global telecom ccircles with respect to calling an LTE network as a 4G network.
Devices for Airtel 4G LTE network
In order to use an LTE network, your mobile device needs to be LTE ready device. Check with yoiur device manual to see if your device is already LTE enabled. Most of the gadgets in the current Indian market supports only 3G and not the LTE network itself.

Airtel 4G spokes person said ”No one can tell exact how much speed that can be delivered on a wireless mobile network because various factors govern it. However, we (Airtel 4G) have seen data transfer speed of around 1.2 to 2 mbps on 3G mobile network. The 4G data transfer speed should be 10 times higher,”
To access 4G, Airtel has announced 2 different USB dongles for accessing 4G service priced at Rs 7,750 and Rs 7,999 and three data plans ranging between Rs 999 and Rs 1,999.
